About Konohana
Konohana is a premium athleisure and performance lifestyle brand founded by former professional athlete Jonathan Ng and world-class designer Jeffrey Chang.
The idea began with a simple but persistent frustration: the performance wear industry no longer reflected the needs of the people who actually lived in it. On one end, fast fashion offered accessibility at the cost of quality. On the other, luxury performance brands delivered quality at prices disconnected from the communities they aimed to serve. There had to be a better way.
Konohana was created to bridge that gap, delivering high-end performance apparel and sports equipment defined by precision, durability, and intentional design, without sacrificing accessibility.
At the core of the brand is kaizen: the philosophy of continuous improvement. This mindset shapes everything we do. As an athlete and a designer, we are both committed to refinement, in sport, in craft, in work, and in life. Konohana exists to support that ongoing pursuit.
The name “Konohana,” meaning “this flower,” is inspired by the lotus, a symbol of resilience and transformation. It grows through the darkest conditions, and still moves toward the light. It reflects a simple truth: your starting point does not define your potential. Growth belongs to anyone willing to pursue it.
Our visual identity carries this philosophy forward. The lotus speaks to emergence and renewal. The central circle reflects discipline, the quiet rhythm of daily improvement. The wing-like petals suggest freedom and possibility. Together, they form a kamon, a crest representing community, bound by shared intention.
Konohana is designed to feel like belonging. A collective commitment to progress. A shared standard of excellence. We are building for those who are not finished yet, and never intend to be.
Changing the Game for Good.
Jonathan Ng, Co-Founder, COO
Jonathan Ng is Co-Founder and COO of Konohana. A former professional athlete and internationally recognized performance coach, his foundation has always been discipline, performance, and constant refinement.
Through sport and coaching, he learned that progress is never accidental. It is measurable, and it is built through repetition, consistency, and intention. For him, improvement is not something you arrive at, but something you practice every day. A steady way of moving forward with purpose.
Konohana was shaped by this perspective. Over years in the performance space, he saw a growing distance between brands and the people they claim to serve, where scale often replaced substance, and convenience replaced discipline.
He set out to help build something more grounded. A brand aligned with growth, not complacency. One that reflects how real progress is made, and stands with those committed to becoming better over time.
Jeffrey Chang, Co-Founder, Creative Director
Jeffrey Chang is Co-Founder and Creative Director of Konohana. His background spans architecture, digital art, and visual development work for Warner Bros, Marvel, and Disney.
Design has always been his language, but discipline refined it. Over time, he came to understand that talent is only a starting point, craft is built through repetition, refinement, and a willingness to improve without end.
As a father, this belief became personal. Discipline and care now shape not only how he works, but how he approaches design and life. Removing excess. Preserving function. Designing for longevity rather than reaction.
He saw a gap in performance wear that often overlooks the standard of the people wearing it, products that appear complete, but do not evolve with the people who wear them.
Konohana became the place to close that gap. A commitment to design that improves over time, for those who do the same.
Shared Belief
It doesn’t matter where you start. It matters who you become.
We believe everyone is on their own path, and progress is built through kaizen, small, consistent improvement over time. You do not reach a better version of yourself. You build it through the process.
Konohana exists to support that mindset, through what we create, and the community we are building around it.
